The Board of Directors of The Open Link (TOL), a nonprofit organization, seeks an experienced, ambitious, and mission-conscious Executive Director who can build upon TOL’s history of a nurturing and vibrant organization.
The Executive Director has responsibility for motivating staff and executing strategies and tactics required to fulfill the organization’s mission. Working through a talented and seasoned staff and an engaged board of directors, the Executive Director will lead the effort to increase The Open Link’s impact on serving the people of the Upper Perkiomen Valley with focus on: Program Development, Resource Development, Public Relations/Marketing, Human Resources, Technology and Governance as well as the implementation of the Strategic Plan as approved by the Board of Directors in 2018. In keeping with the Strategic Plan, the Executive Director must be committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
A future-focused, innovative leadership mindset will be critical to the growth and success of The Open Link.
Key Responsibilities:

- Spearhead revenue generation
- Provide vision for expansion and improvement of program services.
- Give The Open Link a voice
- Ensure an engaged and productive workforce positioned for growth and open to change
- Develop and implement a plan for enhanced and continued board development, composition and participation with an ongoing focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion in collaboration with the Governance Committee.
Qualifications:
Leadership: Energy and the ability to motivate and lead professional staff, board, volunteers, collaborating partners, and diverse constituencies; prominent leadership experience of sustained success in a multi-faceted nonprofit environment.
Community perspective: Knowledge of the issues, opportunities and challenges facing residents and program participants, especially the underserved populations that TOL serves. Knowledge of the needs in Upper Perkiomen Valley and Montgomery County and the existing services with local ties and connections a plus.
Management: Exhibit a visible, fully committed, management style. Demonstrated commitment to staff development. Determine new and innovative opportunities and approaches to enhance program impact and operational efficiency, both financial and administrative.
Strong and persuasive communication skills, both verbal and written. Clearly, effectively, and with enthusiasm, “makes the case” for eliminating poverty and ageism through a full range of programs and represents the organization to the community at large.
Strong interpersonal skills, with an eagerness to build relationships and a careful eye to marketing and revenue generation, both earned and contributed.
Judgment: Strategic thinking, tact, discretion and experienced-based good judgment; ability to make and influence decisions; eliminate roadblocks; create focus.
Professional education and experience:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required. An advanced degree or relevant experience in a related field preferred.
Compensation:
The Open Link is pleased to offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. Paid time off, health and dental benefits, 403b program with match, are offered in a flexible work environment. The salary range is $100,000-$115,000, depending on the skills and experience of the candidate.
